Welcome to my Social Studies Blog!

Hello! Thanks for stopping by my Social Studies, History and Geography Blog!
My name is Tyler Bridgemohan Singh and I am a 25 year old student currently attending Brock University and enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program. I completed my undergrad at the University of Toronto and Majored in English, Minoring in History of Religions and Philosophy. I enjoy playing and watching sports, such as Basketball and Football, Reading (colonial and post-colonial literature in specific), listening to music, hanging out with friends, and cooking. I currently work in the service industry as a cook and love the excitement and energy I find at work.

I have always been someone who has taken an interest in Social Studies in particular, and think that it is one of the most important subjects in school in terms of teaching students how to empathize and relate to/understand what is happening in the world around them. I am very much looking forward to learning from our instructor Zoe about interesting techniques and strategies to get our students excited and engaged in learning social studies. It is in the social studies classroom where the social revolutionaries are born and as educators, if we are able to spark an interest in social/global issues in a student, we can be the catalyst to creating a better world for future generations.

Be sure to check in regularly to keep up to date with  my posts, which will range from personal opinions and discussions and ideas covered in class, to interesting assignments and projects that my peers and I have come up with.
